Side sill

Side sills are structural elements located along the bottom edge of the vehicle’s body on both sides of the vehicle. They run parallel to the ground between the front and rear wheel arches. Functionally, they provide crucial support to the vehicle’s structure, enhancing its overall rigidity, which makes for better handling. As the side sills absorb and distribute impact energy, they help to make the vehicle safer for the occupants by being a part of creating crumple zones.
