In car rental, a residence country is the customer’s country of origin. It defines market-specific rules, which may influence pricing, availability and other conditions.
Residence country means often, but not always, the same as source market, target market and point of sale (POS).
For example, if a Finn books a car in Finland, then their residence country and the source market are both Finland.
However, if a Finn books a car in the UK, then his or her residence country is Finland, but the source market is the UK.
