Exclusive rate

An exclusive rate or exclusive price can have two meanings. It may refer to a price that does not include tax or any additional fees, such as insurance coverage. For example, a price can be VAT-exclusive or VAT-inclusive. An exclusive rate can also refer to a special offer.

In car hire, an exclusive rate usually refers to a rate type that includes only the base rental price for a set period, with either limited or unlimited mileage. It generally does not include any form of insurance cover and may also exclude mandatory taxes and fees. As a result, it is often referred to as time and mileage. The term exclusive rate is most commonly used in North America.
