Authorised driver

In car hire, an authorised driver is a person permitted to drive the rental vehicle. To be allowed to drive the vehicle, the driver must meet the hire company’s requirements, such as holding a valid driving licence and meeting the minimum age, and must be registered on the rental agreement. The main driver and any additional drivers approved and listed on the agreement are all considered authorised drivers.
