Locauto rental products and services
Locauto rents passenger cars and vans through airport, rail-station and city locations in Italy. Customers can book short rentals, while business and individual users can also obtain medium or long-term arrangements. The group offers corporate programs and digital services such as Smart Check-In.
Elefast is Locauto’s digital-rental service for eligible bookings and locations. It was designed to reduce counter steps and support direct vehicle pickup. Product availability, vehicle class and rental conditions still depend on the selected booking.

Locauto’s own rental network is in Italy. The group says it reached its 100th office in 2024, a dated milestone rather than a permanent current count. Through its partnership, Locauto also provides Italian service under the Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National and Alamo brands. That relationship should not be described as Locauto operating Enterprise’s worldwide network.

Locauto history and key changes
Locauto began in Milan in 1979, first working in leasing and long-term rental. It left leasing in 1993 to focus on long-term rental, then entered short-term car rental in 2004 under the Locauto Rent name.
The Enterprise partnership began in 2013. National and Alamo joined the Italian brand portfolio in 2015. Locauto introduced Elefast in 2016, launched van rental in 2018 and added Smart Check-In in 2020. In 2024, its 45th anniversary year, Locauto recorded the opening of its 100th rental office.
